Our festival evening service for the holiday of Shavuot, also known as Zeman Matan Torateynu (the season of the giving of our Torah), takes place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 in the sanctuary.  It features an abbreviated Torah service highlighted by the public reading of the Ten Commandments.

Immediately following, stay and enjoy a community Shavuot dinner prepared by Sheryl Grana. The menu includes bruschetta with lemon ricotta and honey, salmon encroute, creamy ziti, scalloped broccoli, sour cream honey fruit salad, and blintz casserole or cheesecake for dessert. Cost is $16 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children. Please call the Temple office at 724-8857 by Friday, May 30 to make reservations.

Tikkun Leyl Shavuot is an old tradition of staying up all night on Shavuot to study sacred texts in anticipation of receiving the Torah the next morning.  We have modified this tradition with an informal text study of the Book of Ruth, starting around 7:15 p.m. following the dinner.
