Celebrate Sukkot

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, our synagogue community begins to celebrate the festival of huts, giving thanks for a bountiful harvest and commemorating the 40 years wandered in the desert.

Students and teachers in the Religious and Hebrew School and their families will make decorations and hang them in the sukkah beginning at 4:30 p.m. A family-friendly service open to all congregants to welcome the ushpizin (guests) of Jewish mystical tradition begins at 5:30 p.m., immediately followed by a little “pizza in the hut.”  (Please contact the synagogue office, 724-8857, by 10 a.m. that day so we have a head count for pizza.)

Continue the celebration of Sukkot during family services at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, followed by a harvest supper. And join us during Shabbat morning services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, to pray with the lulavim during festival Hallel.
